About us - Who we are

I Love Children came out of the realization that action needs to be taken to influence more Singaporeans to give higher priority to family and having children. We can be so immersed in work, for instance, that we can lose sight of other important aspects of personal life, such as children and family.

I Love Children is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organisation, led by a group of individuals and supported by private, people and public organisations. It is perhaps the only organisation that celebrated children and the joy that they bring.

Our vision and mission is a Singapore that is children-plenty and children-friendly, by advocating a higher priority to having children and promoting a society where children are loved and mainstreamed. We want Singaporeans to open their hearts and minds to the realization that children help to keep one young. They help us to rediscover the joy - the child in us - that is often lost as we grow older, weary and jaded from the many things that we have to do, learn and be as adults.

I Love Children also want Singaporeans to look beyond the individual self. It is children who will ensure the continuity of our community and the nation. Children keep Singapore young, alive and vibrant. In celebrating and highlighting the joy that children bring, the organisation and family. I Love Children believes that such an attitudinal foundation will complement whatever is being done by like-minded organisations, individuals as well as government to encourage children and happy family relationships.

The organisation strives to nurture, encourage and facilitate causes which are pro-children and pro-family. It aims to link up and be the link to like minded individuals and groups, and where possible, to act together to initiate, influence and be the catalyst in changing current attitudes of Singaporeans to be more positive towards family and children.

As a charity, I Love Children seeks to proactively engage like-minded partners in helping to raise funds and secure sponsorship opportunities that are necessary to continue its work, including collaborative initiatives with other pro-family groups.

Day-to-day operations are managed by a Secretariat comprising an Executive Director, an Operations Manager and a Programme Coordinator. The Secretariat is guided by a Board of Management comprising individuals from all walks of life, age and marital status. What binds members together is the common belief in the importance of the family and the joy that children can bring.

Our Objectives

To encourage greater awareness of the vital role that families and children can play in helping all of us live a more fulfilling, rich and balanced life through educational land social/entertainment activities such as talks, workshops, forums and roadshows.

To facilitate the creation of an environment that nurtures both children and parents by organising activities that share the advantages of parenthood and the joy that children can bring.

To be a leader and catalyst in galvanizing and support from individuals, private, community and public sectors to support and/ or initiate activities that will help change mindset of Singaporeans towards a more pro-family and children disposition.

To identify and deal with issues which could create barriers to family formation, and having more children.

To be the voice and platform for parents, prospective parents and all who are pro-family to articulate their needs, fears, concerns and hope on pro-family and pro-children related issues.

To be the resource centre for those seeking information and assistance on family and children related matters to enable them to partake more fully of the joy that children and family bring.

To be the link and to facilitate the link-up between pro-children and pro-family groups, and where possible, to facilitate the coordination of resource and efforts in carrying out collaborative initiatives to further the cause.

To maintain and provide exhibition materials on pro-family and pro-children.
